Saving handmade kids toys and clothes

There is a new law coming into effect February 10 which requires all manufacturers making products intended for 12 adn under to have their products tested by a 3rd party lab for the cost of hundreds to thousands of dollars. This is intended to keep children safe from lead and phthalates but instead will put small business owners out of business. Large corporations are also going to suffer. Please help us by clicking the link. Thanks so much. Every click helps.

Attempting Christmas spirit

Here are a few pics to try to evoke Christmas spirit, at least in me anyway, lol.

1000 markets

Just made my first sale on 1000 markets, woo hoo. Haven't had a sale on Etsy since November 20. Beginning to get concerned about the new CPSIA law affecting all children's products beginning in February. This would make all sellers get their stuff tested if it is for 12 and under, tested for lead, etc., at $100+ for each yarn color, new batch, etc., essentially putting all small businesses out of business. I have my fingers crossed for a change in the law before then.

Lollishops

I've been trying to diversify my selling venues. I have joined Artfire, Shophandmade, 1000markets, bigcartel, handmade fusion, made it myself, and got accepted to lollishops. I don't know why I'm excited about the last one. I think it was the application process and having to be accepted. Woo hoo. Let's hope some sales come from these new places. I've also begun twittering and updated my indiepublic page. Fingers crossed.

I'm trying to understand the point of blogging. I guess what confuses me is why random strangers would care about what I or anyone thinks or is doing, but obviously people do or blogging wouldn't be so popular. So, anyway, I'll try it. It might be better than talking to the cats.

I've been relisting alot in my shop. I have 200 items in there and really would like to sell some before adding new. I don't know how large is too large when it comes to an online store. I do wish I had more exposure so maybe this is the way to go.

More later, I'm supposed to be working.
